During this period of ‘lock down’ we have regrettably postponed all future planned events and meetings.
When the situation eases and the future becomes clearer, we will announce our revised programme.
In the meantime, we wish that you all remain well and safe and manage your lives in the best way possible during this difficult period.
We shall be welcoming Pamela Zinnermann-Hope on 5th October at the CIC venue.
She will be reading from her highly acclaimed collection “On Cigarette Papers’.
Do come along to hear our guest poet this month Gram Joel Davies.
There are still a few Open Mic slots available for this evening.
Contact John Stuart as usual for bookings.
As part of the Taunton Live Festival, there will be a
Poetry Reading with the Fire River Poets
on Thursday 27th July
from 7:30pm to 10:pm
at the Winchester Arms, Castle Green, Taunton.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden death of Tony French. Tony was a valued member of Fire River Poets and will be much missed. Our deepest sympathy goes to Hilary, his wife.
Tony was a very private person and enjoyed working behind the scenes rather than being at the microphone, but his advice and support were unstintingly given whenever needed and were much appreciated by all. Tony was also an assiduous and careful editor. Alongside his many other voluntary activities, he undertook the editorial responsibility for our website and, with Hilary, ran our Facebook page.
At his own request there has been no funeral, but if they wished, his friends were invited to take time at around 3pm on Saturday 3rd June to remember him and celebrate his life.
